This is the place where I will post links to some of my favorite websites.
August 29th, 2008:
My latest post was about one of my favorite authors, Judy Blume. Within that post I linked to her website several times! Here are a couple more children’s authors websites for you browsing pleasure.
Jan Brett Jan is the author of such books as the Mitten, On Noah’s Ark, The Three Snow Bears, Berlioz the Bear, The Hat, The Umbrella, and coming soon Gingerbread Friends (in bookstores September 11th)
Geronimo Stilton – This is just one you have to look at for yourself! My kids LOVE this little mouse!

I recently came across a blog by the name of Creative Journey! So much fun! Christine and I both share a love for sketches when it comes to our scrapbooking endeavors! I’m thrilled by the creativity and gorgeous projects she shares!

Okay so that last site just would not work. We did a little searching and have discovered it’s basically been hacked BADLY. Really bummed because it was an excellent site for reviewing children’s books. But my recommendation is to NOT, I repeat, NOT send you to discoveryjourney.com. Don’t want anyone’s computer having issues!
That said here are a couple of fun links to game and educational sites for kids and a fun site where one can download fonts for bargain prices and sometimes even for FREE!
Site #1: Scrapnfonts.com This is an awesome site for fonts! I just downloaded 20 free fonts here a couple days ago! Those times don’t happen very often but it sure is cool when they do!
Site #2: Millsberry.com This is a fun game site for kids. Just explore the site. There is a lot to it!
Site #3: Starfall.com Great site for beginning or struggling readers.
Take care,

Still working on this here. Trying to make sure the next site I put up is safe as my Firefox isn’t allowing me to visit it myself. I used to be able to and now it’s blocking it. More later.

Another blog today:
Scrapping the Music I just recently came upon this blog through a fellow scrapper at Create My Keepsake. I’m loving it! I still need to do this weeks challenge but first I need INK for my printer!!! (hint hubby;)) The challenge each week is to do a layout inspired by the song of the week. I’m inspired by music and lyrics all the time anyway so this site and I are a great match!
And another website:
Africam: A great web cam site set up in a wildlife refuge – It’s hard sometimes to figure out the best viewing times but when you do catch animals at the watering hole it is AMAZING!
Take care!

Here’s the blog of the day!
Living Oprah Man, oh man! This site has went from little to overwhelmed overnight! LO – the author of this site recently had her cover blown by NPR’s All Things Considered. She was so thrilled by the invitation for an interview that she bit the bullet and exposed herself. Hi Robyn! That one interview garnered her so many hits to her blog and so many comments that she just simply couldn’t keep up! The whole purpose for the Living Oprah site is that Robyn is commited to following Oprah’s advice and pretty much living as Oprah would for the year. She is charting the cost of this adventure and every once in a while her faithful followers will have to talk her off the proverbial ledge and back to reality – but it’s all in fun. This experiment may just culminate in a book that I’m sure will be one of Oprah’s MUST reads!

Two more links -
Fort Wayne Children’s Zoo this Zoo is where my eldest son, Ty is a volunteer every summer. This is his second summer as part of the Z-Team. I would encourage ANY Fort Wayne, Indiana Area Teen to apply for a volunteer position here. It’s an amazing program, especially for teens interested in education, or animal sciences. The Zoo itself is an amazing place! If you have a season pass for the zoo in your area, chance are you would be able to visit our zoo on your travels! If you ever get a chance visit! Especially next summer when our new African adventure zone is open! We are so looking forward to that! Nothing like being 2 inches from a lion with glass between you or getting a chance to feed a giraffe!
McMillen Girl Scout Camp! My girls, Aryn and Zoe, attend the Day camp this week here. This was Aryn’s 4th year and Zoe’s 1st. And they loved every minute of it. I was not a girl scout as a child – so I’m happy that my girls are enjoying all that our local girl scout council has to offer. And if by chance someone reading this made a donation to the girl scouts that would allow a girl the chance to attend camp – Thank You! Without those donations my girls would have never been able to attend!
Neat color matching site This is a fun site that someone at Create My Keepsake suggested! It’s fun to pop your photo into the generator and get so many ideas for the colors to use with the photo when you scrapbook it!
Tomorrow I think I’ll link to some of my favorite blogs, including one that went from just a few hits on a daily basis to HUNDREDS all because of an interview with NPR!
July 17th 2008:
I love this site! The forums are a wonderful place to meet other scrapbookers and papercrafters, learn new tricks and tips and pick up new ideas through challenges! The women here are AMAZINGLY talented and simply some of the friendliest folks around! There is also the store from which you can buy all sorts of scrapbooking supplies and such. With so many local scrapbook stores giving way to nationwide chains and bigger craft stores – many folks are left with limited choices or none at all – Create My Keepsake fill this void!
Well that’s enough for now. I’ll be adding one or two more places on a regular basis. And I promise they won’t all be scrapbooking related!
